Overview
What we collect and why
In short: we use your details to reply to your enquiry, and nothing else. We do not sell or share your information for marketing.
Who we are
Black Heath Metalworks (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal information submitted through this website. You can reach us at hello@blackheathmetal.com.
What we collect
- Enquiry details — your name, phone number, email address, postcode, project type and project description, plus any photographs, sketches or reference images you choose to attach.
- Website analytics — if analytics is enabled, anonymous usage data about how pages are used. See our Cookie Policy.
We do not ask for payment details, identity documents or any other sensitive information through this website.
Why we use it
To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange a site visit and carry out work you ask us to do. The lawful basis for this is that processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Who it is shared with
Your enquiry is sent to us by email or to our enquiry system. The providers hosting this website and delivering that email process the data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell your data or pass it to third parties for marketing.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not result in work, we normally retain the enquiry and related correspondence for up to two years after our last contact. If we carry out work, we normally retain relevant customer, quotation, contract, invoice and project records for six years after completion. We may retain particular records for longer where required by law or where necessary for an active legal claim. Information that is no longer needed is securely deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@blackheathmetal.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page. Please check it when you send us an enquiry.
